February 1961 German concert tour program 

Original vintage concert program for Louis Armstrong’s nationwide tour of Germany during February 1961, presented by C. Ebner, and with an ensemble that included Billy Kyle, Trummy Young, Mort Herbert, Danny Barcelona, and Barney Bigard. Velma Middleton is announced as the vovalist in the program, but while touring with Armstrong in Sierra Leone, she had a stroke and died on 10th February, 1961, in the Hill Station Hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The tour continued with Jewel Brown replacing Middleton.

In original, pictorial coated wrappers, staple bound, 21.1 x 29.7 cm, 12 pp. All text in German. Wrappers slightly rubbed with light wear to spine and extremities, else in near excellent unmarked condition. Additional photos available on request.
