Concertgebouw, Amsterdam October 1954 concert program


Original vintage concert program for Lionel Hampton and His Orchestra’s performance at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam [Holland] on Thursday, 28th October, 1954, presented by Lou van Rees. This was Hampton’s second visit to the Netherlands, now with an orchestra that included Jay Peters, Jay Dennis, Robert Plater, Elwyn Frasier, and Joe Evans (saxophones); Wallace Davenport, Julius Brooks, Edward Mullens, and Nat Adderley (trumpets); Harold Roberts, Al Hayse, and George Cooper (trombones); Dwike Mitchell (piano); William Mackel (guitar); Wilfred Eddleton (drums); Peter Bradie (bass); and Curley Hamner, Bertice Reading, Sonnie Parker, Ann Nichols, and Al Taylor (dance and vocals). The concert was recorded and has eventually been released as part of the The European Concerts 1953—1954.

One sheet folded into four pages, 18.5 x 26.4 cm. All text in Dutch. Light wear to the top of the front wrapper, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Additional photos available on request.
